Dr. Mokhlesur Rahman, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, has been removed from his post and transferred as a member of the Planning Commission. The ministry issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (September 21).
According to ministry sources, if everything goes as planned, Additional Secretary of the Career Planning and Training (CPT) Wing Dr. Abu Shaheen Md. Asaduzzaman or Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry A.S.M. Saleh Ahmed may be appointed as his replacement.
Earlier, on August 28 last year, Dr. Mokhlesur Rahman, a BCS Administration cadre officer of the 1982 batch, was appointed as Senior Secretary on a two-year contractual basis, replacing Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury.
Since taking charge, he has faced sharp criticism for creating unprecedented disorder in the administration. Allegations surfaced of irregularities in transfers and promotions, favoritism in appointing secretaries and deputy commissioners, and even financial transactions over appointments. Several reports on these issues have been published in the media, sparking widespread criticism.
