The final results of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election have been announced. Mohammad Abu Sadik (Sadik Kayem), a candidate backed by Islami Chhatra Shibir, has been elected Vice President (VP). SM Farhad won the General Secretary (GS) post, while Mohiuddin Khan was elected Assistant General Secretary (AGS).
The results were formally declared on Wednesday morning at the university’s Senate Building. According to the announcement, Sadik Kayem secured victory in the VP race with 14,042 votes. His nearest rival, Chhatra Dal’s Abidul Islam Khan, received 5,708 votes.
For the GS post, SM Farhad received 10,794 votes, defeating Chhatra Dal leader Tanvir Bari Hamim, who got 5,283 votes. Meghmallar Basu from the Resistance Council polled 4,949 votes.
In the AGS race, Mohiuddin Khan won with 11,772 votes. His opponent, Chhatra Dal’s Tanvir Al Hadi Maied, secured 5,064 votes, while Ashrefa Khatun of the Anti-Discrimination Student Union got 900 votes.
