From beneath the grounds of London’s children’s hospital has surfaced a light of history—the time capsule left behind by Princess Diana. Buried in 1991 under the foundation of the children’s cancer center, this lead-covered wooden box was discovered during recent construction work.
Inside lay a glimpse of life in the early 1990s: a pocket-sized television, Kylie Minogue’s popular album, a solar-powered calculator, coins, a passport, seeds from Kew Gardens, recycled paper, and even a copy of The Times. And there was a photograph of Princess Diana, a piece of memory that still touches hearts across time.
After decades underground, most of the items remained intact. The discovery moved hospital staff and researchers to tears, as if receiving an emotional letter written by a previous generation.
