The number of deaths due to measles and measles symptoms in the country has reached 1,108. Four more people have died of measles symptoms in the last 24 hours.
This information was given in a message issued by the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday. It said that one person each died in Dhaka, Chittagong, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions between 8 am on Tuesday and 8 am on Wednesday.
According to the Department of Health, 101 people have been confirmed to be infected with measles so far this year and 1,07 people have died with measles symptoms.
Meanwhile, 128 new cases of measles have been detected in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed measles cases in the country this year to 21,520.
During the same period, 1,221 more people were found to have measles symptoms, bringing the total number of suspected infections this year to 191,731.
