Foreign artists are being cancelled or postponed for various reasons. Two concerts organized by Pakistani artists have been postponed at the last minute due to security reasons.
According to the organizers, all preparations have been completed, but the security clearance was not available and the programme was not allowed to be held on time.
The concert titled ‘Mahax Republic’, dedicated to ‘Radmmy Note 17’, was scheduled to be held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in the capital on 25 September. In addition to the three popular Pakistani bands — Voice of Junoon, ‘Jal the Band’ and ‘Roxen’ (featuring), four Bangladeshi bands ‘Nemesis’, ‘Level Five’, ‘The Underground’ and ‘Nagar Baul’ (James) were supposed to perform.
However, the concert had to be postponed due to lack of security clearance at the last minute. One of the organisers, speaking on condition of anonymity, said all preparations for the event were completed and the artists’ advance remuneration was also paid. However, the decision was taken to postpone the event as they did not get the necessary permissions.
He said the organisers will hold a press conference on Thursday (September 24th) to discuss the postponement of the concert.
For the same reason, the concert titled ‘Wave Fest: Enjoy the Full Moon’ of popular Pakistani band ‘Kavish’ has also been cancelled. The band was scheduled to perform at Sea Shell Park and Resort in Purbachal on 26 September, organized by ‘Prime Wave Communication’. The event was also cancelled due to security reasons.
According to the organizers, the new date of the postponed concerts will be announced soon. Three concerts planned with three other foreign artists have also been postponed, sources said.
However, the organizers will give detailed reasons and the next schedule for the suspension of these concerts will be officially announced.
