Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has felicitated the award-winning hafez of Bangladesh in the International Holy Quran Competition. He said that if the children of the country achieve something good through their talent and ability, the government will try to recognize that achievement on behalf of the state.
The winning Hafizs of the 46th King Abdul Aziz International Holy Quran Competition held in Saudi Arabia were felicitated at the Cabinet Division meeting room at the Secretariat on Thursday (September 17). Congratulating the winners at the event, the Prime Minister said that their achievements are not only personal but also an honor for the Muslim community of Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister said that after a long time, Hafizs have been encouraged and honored. It is part of the current government’s policy to recognize the good achievements of the country’s talented and capable children at the state level. If talented children are encouraged and properly evaluated, future generations and the country will benefit from it.
At the event, the teachers of the winning Hafizs presented various problems to the Prime Minister. He assured that they would discuss the issues with the concerned minister and find possible solutions. The Prime Minister asked them to inform the Prime Minister as per the rules if the government’s cooperation is required to participate in such events, including the International Quran Competition, in the future. He also assured possible cooperation from the government.
Tarique Rahman said that the government wants the country’s boys and girls to bring honor and glory to themselves and the country by participating in international competitions. At the same time, he called on everyone to work together to establish peace and positive change in the country. The Prime Minister seeks the government’s cooperation and prayers to work for the people of the country and bring about good change with everyone.
The Prime Minister presented books to the winners at the event. He also listened to the recitation of verses from the Surahs by Hafizs who had previously won prizes in international competitions and achieved success.
In the Saudi Arabian competition, among the competitors from 133 countries around the world, Bangladeshi Hafiz Mohammad Zakaria won first place in the 15-para Hifz, Tajweed and Beautiful Recitation category. Hafiz Sheikh Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan Ashrafi won third place in the 30-para Hifz, Tajweed and Beautiful Recitation category. In addition, Hafiza Rabeta Binte Ramadan won 15-para and Hafiza Musfira Binte Mahmud won third place in the 30-para Hifz, Tajweed and Beautiful Recitation category.
Religious Affairs Minister Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, State Minister Shamim Kaiser, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar and other concerned officials were present at the event. Teachers of the winning Hafizs Qayyum Mollah, Muinuddin Majumder, Abu Bakr, Sajeda Khatun and Maulana Rafiqul Islam were also present at the event.
