Firoza Begum (60) was hit by a car carrying state minister for public administration and food Abdul Bari in Shibganj, Bogra. He died at TMSS Medical College Hospital in Bogra on Friday (September 4th).
The deceased was identified as Firoza Begum, wife of Nizam Uddin of Gopinathpur village in Shibganj upazila.
According to police and local sources, state minister Abdul Bari and his wife were on their way to Jaipurhat from Dhaka on Friday morning. On reaching Gopinathpur area, Firoza Begum tried to cross the road. The car lost control and fell into the paddy field on the side of the road.
The state minister, his wife and her family were injured in the incident. After the accident, the state minister and his wife were sent to Jaipurhat in a police car. Locals rescued Firoza Begum and sent her to TMSS Medical College Hospital. He later died while undergoing treatment.
Bogra Sadar police station officer-in-charge Ibrahim Ali said the body of Firoza Begum was kept in the custody of the hospital. Family members are present. Further legal action will be taken in consultation with them.
