
There are no signs of stopping the measles outbreak in the country. Five more children have died of measles in the last twenty-four hours.
Three of them died in Dhaka division.
At the same time, new measles symptoms of 149 people have been reported in the body and 83 more measles have been identified in the test.
This information was given in the regular situation report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday (August 23rd).
According to government estimates, 839 children have died of measles symptoms since March 15. Nine more children died of measles at the same time. As a result, the total number of symptoms and confirmed-in-effects has increased to 938.
At the same time, the number of confirmed measles cases in the country has increased to 18 thousand 487 people. The total number of patients with measles has reached 50 thousand 652 people.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in the last five months, 1 lakh 31 thousand 664 people have been admitted to hospital with symptoms of measles. Twenty-six thousand nineteen thousand of them have returned home after treatment.
The increasing number of infections and deaths has raised concerns about public health experts. They are focusing on ensuring the vaccination of children, getting treatment quickly and speedy identification of the infected if there is a fever and red rash in the body.
