The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the presidential election. According to the schedule announced, voting will be held on August 20th.
According to the schedule—
Last day for filing nomination papers: August 13th
Nominations: 16th August
Last day to withdraw candidacy: 18th August
Voting: August 20th
The Parliament Secretariat has provided the voter list to the Election Commission as part of preparations for the presidential election. Earlier, the commission had asked for the list.
On July 24th, the President was appointed. Sahabuddin resigned. According to the constitution, the new presidential election must be completed within ninety days of the vacancy of the post of President.
In this regard, the Election Commission held a meeting with acting Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Kaiser Kamal on 26 July. The meeting also discussed the supply of necessary voter lists for the presidential election.
