According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), nine new patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country from 8am to 8am with symptoms like measles. A laboratory test was conducted to ensure a measles infection in the bodies of 139 people.
Ninety-three children have died from the virus since the beginning of the year. Another 573 children died of measles.
In all, the total number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms in the country has reached 666 people, which has become a matter of deep concern for public health experts.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has urged children to ensure that the measles-rubella (MR) vaccine is available in accordance with the prescribed time. In addition, it is recommended to contact the nearest health center immediately if there are symptoms such as fever, rash, cough or redness in the eyes.
According to public health experts, it is possible to reduce the infection and mortality rate by increasing the scope of the vaccination program and taking rapid preventive measures in the affected areas.
