An important distributorship agreement has been signed between Rupali Bank PLC’s Mobile Financial Service (MFS) RupaliCash and Akij Online to further expand the reach of digital financial services in the country.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Rupali Bank’s head office in Dilkusha, Dhaka, on Thursday (June 11). Through this partnership, the two institutions will work together to make the country’s digital transaction system easier, safer and more customer-friendly.
Speaking at the event, Sheikh Amin Uddin, Managing Director of Akij Online, said that this combination of two powerful organizations from the public and private sectors will play a positive role in the country’s economic progress and create an exemplary example.
Rupali Bank Managing Director Kazi Md. Wahidul Islam said that RupaliCash will soon become one of the most popular and leading digital financial services in the country. He mentioned that Rupali Bank was the first government bank to launch mobile banking services in 2016. Later, it has been operating its own technology-based platform called ‘RupaliCash’ since 2025.
Rupali Bank Deputy Managing Directors Tahmina Akhtar and Hasan Tanvir, Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Mamunur Rahman and senior officials of both institutions were present at the agreement signing ceremony.
