The number of measles infection and its symptoms in the country is increasing at an alarming rate. Eight more children have died of measles and symptoms in the last 24 hours. One of them died of measles and the other seven died of measles.
According to the latest data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday, the total number of deaths from measles and measles in the country has reached 628 people. Ninety-two of them died of measles and 536 were killed with measles.
A child has died of measles in the last one day in Dhaka. On the other hand, two children died in Dhaka division and one each in Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong, Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions.
Ninety-three new cases of measles have been confirmed. As a result, the total number of confirmed patients in the country has increased to 9 thousand 779 people.
At the same time, more than a thousand 92 children have been diagnosed with measles. As a result, the total number of suspected cases has increased to 80 thousand 104 people.
Public health experts say it can be difficult to control the situation without increasing the scope of vaccination program, rapid detection of diseases and special surveillance in vulnerable areas. They urged parents to seek immediate medical advice if they show fever, rash or other symptoms of measles in addition to ensuring the prescribed vaccine to children.
