The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCB) has announced the schedule for the upcoming board of directors. According to the schedule announced, the new board election of the BCB will be held on June 7th.
Negotiations have already begun in the field of sports to determine a new leadership in the country’s cricket administration.
According to the schedule, nomination papers will be sold on 20th and 21st May. Interested candidates will be able to collect nomination papers from the BCB office every day between 10am and 4pm. The authorities have already started all preparations for the election.
Earlier on April 7th, the National Sports Council (NSC) announced the dissolution of the elected board led by former president Aminul Islam Bulbul. Later, an 11-member ad hoc committee headed by former national team captain Tamim Iqbal was formed.
The NSC said it would be the main responsibility of the new committee to hold an acceptable and participatory election within three months. According to the announcement, the election schedule was released within the stipulated time frame.
The board was dissolved within six months of the election held in October last year. Since taking office, the committee, led by Aminul Islam Bulbul, has faced various criticisms and internal disputes. At one stage, the situation became more complicated when seven board directors resigned.
According to cricket analysts, after the recent unrest, this election can play an important role in restoring stability in the country’s cricket administration.
