The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said it has been forced to retreat strategically by a U.S. Navy’s amphibian attack after the Iranian missile strike.
The IRGC said in a statement that the LHA-7-class ship was targeted and moved deep into the southern Indian Ocean after the attack. A large number of sailors and marine personnel were stationed on the ship and were capable of carrying a helicopter.
The Iranian side also claimed that coordinated missile and drone strikes were carried out on the U.S. and Israeli military-industrial infrastructure, operational bases and logistics systems. According to them, a series of operations of Operation True Promise 4 hit strategic targets.
The attack included Israel’s important installations, especially the Haifa region, strategic centres around Tel Aviv, and industrial infrastructure. The IRGC also stressed the need to monitor the military movements of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
There was no immediate official response from the United States or Israel to respond to these claims. This information could not be independently verified.
Analysts say that in the wake of the ongoing tensions, such claims and counter-claims could make the security situation in the region more uncertain.
