Major General Syed Majid Khademi, the intelligence chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed. Iran’s state media confirmed this on Monday.
“He was killed in a morning-run attack, which was described as an attack by the United States and Israel,”” the IRGC said.” However, no details were given about the type or location of the attack.
Khademi has recently taken over the role. He was replaced by a top military officer who was killed in the 2025 conflict.
Meanwhile, the number of casualties in attacks in various parts of Iran has increased in the last 24 hours. According to international media reports, at least 34 people were killed in attacks in several cities.
Many people, including women and children, were killed in the attack in the capital Tehran. There were also reports of lives in separate attacks in the cities of Kom and Port-i Lengeh.
According to observers, the recent attack and the death of a top security official could lead to a new level of tension between Iran-U.S.-Israel tensions. It is also feared that the situation could deteriorate rapidly.
