Newcomer Barrister Chowdhury Ishraque Ahmed Siddiqui has officially taken over as the administrator of Gazipur district council.
On Wednesday (April 1st) morning, he took over as the district council office in Rathkhola area of Gazipur city.
Md Nazrul Islam, chief executive officer of the district council, greeted the newcomer on his job. Officers of different levels of the district council were present on the occasion. Later, the leaders and activists of various political, social and professional organisations greeted the newcomer with flowers at the district council premises.
In a brief speech after assuming office, Barrister Chowdhury Ishraque Ahmed Siddique said the ongoing development activities of Gazipur Zilla Parishad will be made more dynamic. Priority will be given to the development of infrastructure, education, health and rural connectivity in the district. At the same time, transparency and accountability will be ensured in the implementation of the project.
He said the district council works for the welfare of the people. Development activities will be taken up in coordination with the people’s representatives, administration and local people. The development plan will be taken according to the demand of each upazila of the district and initiatives will be taken to implement the long-standing projects quickly.
The party leaders and activists greeted the newcomer on the occasion and wished him success in the overall development of the district. He hoped that the activities of the Gazipur district council would bring a new momentum to the activities of the Gazipur district council.
