The body of expatriate Bangladeshi Ahmed Ali, who was killed in the United Arab Emirates in the context of the Iran-Israel conflict, has arrived in the country. The body was brought to Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Emirates flight EK-582 at 8:20 am on Monday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam and State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Md. Nurul Haque were present at the airport to receive the body. Senior officials of the two ministries concerned were also present there.
Official sources said the deceased, Ahmed Ali, was working in the United Arab Emirates. It is initially believed that he lost his life in an incident that occurred in the context of the recent regional conflict.
Concerned about the safety of Bangladeshis abroad, the authorities concerned have taken necessary measures to bring the body back to the country. It is learnt that burial arrangements will be made after the body is handed over to the family.
