The joint US-Israeli military campaign against Iran in the rapidly escalating conflict in the Middle East has entered its sixth day. Washington claims that the series of strikes have caused significant damage to Iran’s military and administrative structures and that the coalition is moving towards taking control of the country’s airspace.
According to a live report by Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera , various sources claim that the death toll in Iran in the ongoing attacks has exceeded 1,000.
At a White House briefing on Wednesday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the US-led operation had already sunk more than 20 Iranian ships and killed at least 49 top Iranian officials, adding that more than 2,000 military and strategic sites had been targeted.
The White House also claimed that the operation had put the Iranian regime under significant pressure. In this regard, US President Donald Trump said that the United States was making “significant progress” on the battlefield.
However, no fully independent and verifiable information has yet been released by Iran regarding these claims, and conflicting information about the situation on the battlefield is also emerging.
