Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , has died. She had been in a coma after being wounded along with her husband in a joint US-Israeli airstrike on Saturday.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that Bagherzadeh, 79, had been in critical condition since the attack and later died.
Born in 1947 to a business family, Bagherzadeh married Khamenei in 1964. She has remained out of public life throughout the long period of political unrest—taking no formal role, quietly supporting her family, according to those familiar with the matter.
