Multiple explosions were heard in Tehran on Saturday (February 28) morning amid joint US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
An explosion also occurred outside the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , but he is unharmed and has been evacuated to a “safe location” outside the capital, an Iranian official told Reuters .
Tehran was on high alert after the attack, the Times of Israel reported. At the same time, Israel closed its airspace and canceled all civilian flights, the Times of Israel reported . Israel’s transportation ministry urged passengers abroad to stay away from airports until further notice and to keep updated on their flight schedules.
The statement added that the airspace will be reopened when the security situation is favorable; new flights will be announced at least 24 hours in advance. Israelis abroad are urged to follow the instructions of the National Security Council.
