Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the ‘Family Card’ program on a trial basis in Bogra on March 10. This is his first official visit to Bogra as Prime Minister.
State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam gave this information on Friday. He said that this initiative will be launched from Bogra as part of the government’s social security program. Preparations have begun at the district administration and local levels for the visit.
According to relevant sources, each family holding the card will receive financial assistance of Tk 2,500 per month. Initially, priority will be given to women from extremely poor, poor and low-income families as beneficiaries.
