Aniruddha Das , Assistant High Commissioner of India in Sylhet , has indicated that Indian visa procedures for Bangladeshis may soon return to normal.
He said that initiatives have been taken to fully launch the visa service, which is currently operating on a limited scale.
While exchanging views with journalists at the Sylhet District Press Club on Wednesday afternoon, he said, “While medical and double-entry visas are currently open, visas for other categories, including tourism, are closed. However, vigorous efforts are being made to re-open them.”
Aniruddha Das said that with the improvement in the situation after the recent political changes, there is a real possibility of normalization of visa operations. He also mentioned that visa services for Bangladeshis were limited after the popular uprising.
