BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the graves of his parents after a day-long public rally on the last day of campaigning for the 13th parliamentary election.
On Monday night, he went to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and laid wreaths at the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and recited Fateha.
In the campaign that began in the morning, he addressed public meetings in eight constituencies in Dhaka city. In these meetings, he presented the party’s manifesto and sought public support for building a future Bangladesh.
In an address to the nation on Bangladesh Television and Betar in the evening, Tarique Rahman described the February 12 election as an opportunity to restore people’s rights. He promised to create jobs, strengthen social security, take a tough stance against corruption, and implement administrative reforms. At the same time, he expressed regret for the unintentional mistakes of the past and pledged to make amends.
