BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed regret to the countrymen for the party’s unintentional mistakes during the past regime and urged them to vote for the paddy in the upcoming national elections.
In his address to the nation on BTV on Monday, he said that BNP wants to build a safe and accountable Bangladesh by learning from past experiences.
Tarique Rahman said that BNP has fulfilled its responsibility of running the state with the support of the people several times. If there was any mistake during that time, he sincerely apologizes, accepting responsibility. In his words, the priority of BNP is to curb corruption, establish the rule of law and hold the state accountable to the people.
He promised that if the government is formed through the people’s vote, a strict stance will be taken against corruption and the rule of law will be re-established. Reiterating that the people are the source of BNP’s political power in running the state, he urged voters to cast their votes on February 12.
In the final part of his speech, he said that February 12 is the day to establish people’s rights, and for that purpose, he wished for the victory of the rice sheaf.
