Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has ordered a radical reform of the training system to ensure transparency and efficiency in government services. He made it clear that there will be no room for corruption in any government institution; rather, services should reach the doorsteps of citizens directly through technology-based systems.
On Thursday afternoon, the Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) handed over the report on the activities and institutional assessment of the training institutions to the Principal Advisor at the State Guest House Jamuna. The assessment, conducted with the technical assistance of the United Nations Development Programme, included five top training institutions under the Ministry of Public Administration.
In the meeting, the Chief Advisor said that if there is training but its results are not reflected in reality, then it is necessary to reform the system. He emphasized on problem-solving-based, modern and technology-based training instead of the old and rigid training system. At the same time, he also talked about the system of evaluation, ranking and incentive of officials and employees according to their performance.
Calling for making government training institutions quality and competitive, Professor Yunus said that in the future, being able to receive training in these institutions should become a matter of pride – for both the government and private sectors.
