The government has appointed 1,051 executive magistrates across the country ahead of the 13th parliamentary elections. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.
The notification said that the appointed officers will perform their duties in their respective districts and jurisdictions from February 8 to 14 as per the Mobile Court Act, 2009. They will work at the field level to implement law and order and the code of conduct during the election.
As part of the recruitment, magistrates of four departments will participate in virtual training at 10 am on Thursday and officials of the remaining four departments at 2:30 pm on the same day. The link to the training will be sent to the concerned officials.
In addition, every executive magistrate has been asked to join the concerned district magistrate or returning officer by February 7. This appointment was made as part of the administrative preparations ahead of the elections.
