BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has strongly criticized the recent statements of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami ahead of the 13th national parliamentary elections.
Without mentioning names, he alleged that a party is misleading people by promising to give ‘tickets to heaven’ before the elections and is pushing Muslims towards the path of shirk.
Tarique Rahman made these remarks while addressing the BNP’s first election rally at the Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa Ground on Thursday afternoon as the chief guest. At one stage of the speech, he said through a religious question and answer session that only Allah owns everything, including heaven and hell, and no human has the power to give it. Therefore, these promises are religiously misleading and deceptive.
He said, “Those who are saying such things are not only deceiving people, but are also deceiving religious beliefs.” Citing the 1971 Liberation War, Tarique Rahman said, “The people of the country have already known whose role was what.”
The BNP chairman warned that everyone must unite against blasphemy, bigotry, and lies and join the BNP’s movement to restore democracy.
