Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus inspected the progress of the final phase of work on the July Uprising Memorial Museum built at Ganabhaban. Touring the museum on Tuesday afternoon, he called it an ‘unprecedented example for the entire world’.
During the visit, he viewed the history of the July Uprising, memorials to martyrs, documentary evidence of disappearances and repression, and a documentary. The chief advisor said that this museum will remind future generations of the history of atrocities and teach the nation not to return to such dark days again.
Top leaders of BNP, Jamaat and Jatiya Nagorik Party and various advisors were present at the time. Cultural Advisor Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui said that it is a record that the museum’s work has reached this stage in a short time and it will be opened to the public before the elections.
