BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has thanked all the individuals and organizations concerned for helping to ensure the smooth conduct of the funeral and burial of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He expressed his gratitude on behalf of himself and his family in a verified Facebook post early Thursday.
Tarique Rahman said that in this moment of deep grief, his mother’s final farewell with the respect and dignity of the people of the country was ensured due to the sense of responsibility, professionalism and humane behavior of those concerned. He especially thanked the members of the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as the members of the Police, BGB, RAB, Ansar, VDP and APBN for their patience and devotion.
He also praised the vigilance and responsibility of the members of DGFI, NSI and Special Branch. He also mentioned with gratitude the coordinated role of the National Security Advisor, advisors and officials of various ministries.
Tarique Rahman also thanked the efforts of the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the presence of foreign representatives and the professional coverage of the media workers from home and abroad despite the adverse circumstances. He also recalled the personal presence and sympathy of the Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus and the members of the Advisory Council.
Tarique Rahman said that it was because of this collective cooperation that the nation was able to honor the memory of his mother with dignity.
