Recalling the historic statement “I Have a Dream” by US civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, “Today, standing on the soil of Bangladesh, I want to say —I Have a Plan —for the people of this country, for this country.”
In his speech at the public reception stage on 300 Feet Road in Purbachal, the capital, on Thursday (December 25) afternoon, he said that his plan aims at the interests, development and future change of the people of the country.
Tarique Rahman said that the implementation of this plan requires the cooperation of all people who love democracy. “We need the cooperation of everyone who is in this ocean of people and those who are in favor of democracy across the country,” he said. The BNP leader also expressed hope that the implementation of this plan will be possible if the people support it.
At one point in his speech, he called for prayers for the country and the nation. He commented that with the mercy and help of Allah, it will be possible to build the desired Bangladesh through the hard work of the people.
Finally, Tarique Rahman said that those who will take the responsibility of running the country in the future should pledge to run the state in the light of justice and morality. He called on the people present to make that pledge along with them.
