As part of the seat-sharing agreement ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, BNP has decided to support Jonayed Saki, the chief coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement, in Brahmanbaria-6 constituency. As a result, the party is not fielding its own candidate in that constituency.
Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the matter at a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan on Wednesday (December 24).
He said that the seat agreement was reached based on continuous discussions with the parties involved in the simultaneous anti-fascist movement. This list is not final; discussions will continue and new decisions will be announced.
On that day, BNP announced the distribution of a total of eight seats through an agreement with seven partner parties. Among them are Mahmudur Rahman Manna of Nagorik Oikya in Bogra-2, Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) leader Mustafa Jamal Haider in Pirojpur-1, Fariduzzaman Farhad of NPP in Narail-2, Mufti Rashid Bin Wakkas of Islami Oikya Jote in Jessore-5, Nurul Haque Noor of Gana Adhikar Parishad in Patuakhali-3, Rashed Khan in Jhenaidah-4, Saiful Haque of the Revolutionary Workers Party in Dhaka-12, and Jonayed Saki in Brahmanbaria-6.
