The trial of the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi will be held at a speedy trial tribunal, said Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul.
In his Facebook post on Monday, he said that according to the Speedy Trial Tribunal Act-2002, the trial will be completed within a maximum of 90 days after the police report is submitted.
Earlier, the Inqilab Manch demanded the immediate formation of a special tribunal to ensure a fair and speedy trial of the murder. The organization also mentioned seeking the assistance of international intelligence agencies if necessary.
The government’s announcement has raised expectations in political and civic circles that the trial process for the Hadi assassination will move forward quickly.
