  • Regular meditation keeps the mind healthy. Nerves and muscles relax. Mental stress decreases. Peace increases. The risk of psychosomatic diseases decreases. Immunity increases. As a result, people, professions, families, and society as a whole become better.
World Meditation Day is being celebrated nationwide on Sunday with the optimism and determination to keep everything in life good by keeping the mind healthy.
The main event of the day will begin at 7 am at the National Press Club premises in the capital. Quantum Foundation, one of the largest volunteer organizations in the country, is organizing this open program. Thousands of peace-loving people from different classes and professions will gather from different areas of the capital.
The program begins with a collective affirmation of being well. After presenting the feelings of people of different ages, starting from children and adolescents, and the universal benefits of meditation, everyone present will silently dive into themselves. They will realize that if the individual’s mind is healthy, if there is peace in the mind, then only the family, society, and the whole world will have unwavering peace.
The United Nations has declared December 21 as ‘World Meditation Day’ in 2024. The declaration of the day is mainly a reminder of the universal right to mental and physical well-being. Based on various scientific studies, the World Health Organization is now referring to meditation as a ‘method of taking care of yourself’. It is encouraging regular meditation practice for stress management. Our country’s Department of Health adopted yoga meditation as a complement to healthcare in 2022. Meditation practice has also become a part of education and teacher training programs in 2023.
People of various professions, including journalists, media personalities and members of the National Press Club, will be present at this hour-long event at the Press Club premises. Apart from the capital, the day is being celebrated simultaneously in various places in the country and abroad. Numerous peace-loving people will immerse themselves in meditation together in various notable places across the country including Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barisal, Khulna, Sylhet. Those who believe that a good mind is good, everything is good. Everyone involved hopes that more people will join this march for well-being centered around World Meditation Day.
