An arson attack has taken place at the office of the Udichi Shilpi Gosthi on Topkhana Road in the capital. The fire broke out at around 7:20 pm on Thursday, according to the organization and the fire service.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of people entered the office in the evening, vandalized it, and then set it on fire, spreading panic inside the building.
Rozina Akhter, the officer in charge of the fire service control room, said that upon receiving the information, four units of Siddiqbazar Fire Station quickly reached the spot and started working to control the fire.
The cause of the incident and the extent of the damage were not immediately known. Law enforcement is monitoring the situation.
