BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is the most stable it has been in a month, her personal physician Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said on Friday evening, speaking to reporters in front of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Dr. Zahid said that Khaleda Zia was taken to the operation theater on Friday and underwent a minor medical procedure, which was successful. She is currently undergoing treatment in a cabin with ICU facilities in the CCU. He also said that her physical condition has not deteriorated compared to before.
He further said that BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, family members and party leaders have sought prayers from the countrymen for Khaleda Zia’s speedy recovery. Her treatment is being supervised by a medical board comprising local and foreign doctors.
It is worth noting that Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on November 23. She has been suffering from multiple serious diseases including arthritis, diabetes, liver cirrhosis, kidney and lung complications for a long time. A pacemaker was implanted in her heart in June this year.
