The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has recovered the motorcycle, helmet and a fake number plate used in the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, a potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency and spokesperson of the Inqilab Manch.
The DMP said that these evidences were recovered from the abandoned Banalata residential area of Sher-e-Banglanagar on Sunday (December 14) morning. After analyzing the CCTV footage, it was identified that the number plate of the motorcycle had been changed. Later, the fake number plate was found from a manhole.
Investigation revealed that the motorcycle had changed hands at least eight times before the attack. The first owner was Abdur Rahman. Later, it was finally purchased through multiple individuals using the national identity card of Md. Kabir, an associate of the main suspect Faisal, in the name of Mainuddin Islam.
The recovered evidence has been handed over to the DB police for further investigation.
