Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has initially identified a suspect in the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency and spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha. The public has been asked to provide information by releasing his photo.
A DMP press release on Saturday said the man has been identified after analyzing CCTV footage from around the scene. A vigorous operation is underway across the capital to arrest the attackers.
Police said that if information about the suspect is provided, the identity of the informant will be kept confidential and an appropriate reward will be given. Anyone with any information in this regard is requested to contact DC Motijheel (01320040080), OC Paltan (01320040132) or the national emergency service number 999.
The DMP says that the investigation is progressing with the aim of quickly bringing everyone involved in this incident of election violence to justice.
