Parvin Sultana, Gazipur District Correspondent : With the aim of providing improved citizen services to the residents of Gazipur and increasing accountability, the Gazipur City Corporation authorities held a view exchange meeting with journalists on Sunday (December 7) morning at the hall room of the Nagar Bhaban.
Gazipur City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Sohel Hasan presided over the view exchange meeting and answered the questions of the journalists. Gazipur City Corporation Secretary Amin Al Parvez and Waste Management Officer Sohel Rana were present at the time.
In the meeting, journalists from among the journalists asked questions about improving the relationship between the City Corporation and journalists to increase citizen services, such as 71 Television journalist Iqbal Ahmed Sarkar, Daily Ittefaq journalist Mojibur Rahman, Daily Deshrupantor’s Aminul Islam, Daily Alokot Bangladesh’s Professor Abul Hossain Chowdhury, Daily Rezaul Bari Babul, Daily Banglabhoomi’s Editor and Publisher Nazrul Islam Azahar and many others.
Gazipur Metropolitan City Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Sohel Hasan answered the journalists’ questions and outlined his vision for the development of Gazipur Metropolitan City – he said that the construction of the overbridge over the rail gate of the dream of Gazipur residents will start soon, measures will be taken to supervise the development of roads, work is in full swing to eradicate mosquitoes, although he could not give good news about the Pubail Gazipur road, he said that he would try his best, 1000 bighas of land have been acquired for waste management, and he also mentioned various measures for secondary transfer of waste.
He will take more effective measures in drainage and sewage management. He will take steps regarding street lights. He said that he will look into the issue of digging the Mogar canal and take action. He will make arrangements to hold a view exchange meeting every two months. He assured the journalists that he will take arrangements to pay the outstanding bills of the greeting advertisements published in the newspaper. At that time, the gathering of about two hundred journalists turned into a fair.
