Winter has set in in the northern region. The country’s lowest temperature was recorded at 10.5 degrees Celsius in Tentulia, Panchagarh at 9 am on Saturday. The drop at the beginning of the season has almost brought the daily life of the local people to a standstill.
Earlier, on Tuesday, a temperature of 11.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in Tentulia. After that, the minimum temperature was 12 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.
The extreme cold is disrupting public life in the area—people’s movement on the roads has decreased, and fog is increasing in the morning and afternoon.
Jitendranath Roy, officer-in-charge of the Tentulia Meteorological Observatory, said that after remaining stable for a few days, the temperature suddenly dropped to 10.5 degrees today. There is also a risk of cold wave in the coming days.
