Special prayers were held after Friday prayers in various parts of the country on Friday for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at the CCU of Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Party leaders and activists and ordinary people participated in this program organized by the BNP in mosques from the capital to remote areas.
The party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other central leaders participated in the prayer mahfil organized in Nayapaltan, Dhaka. After the prayer, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Begum Zia sacrificed her life for democracy. The medical crisis since her release from prison has made her even sicker.”
He said the special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Saturday. If the doctors agree, Khaleda Zia can be taken to London on Sunday.
BNP has called for prayers at various religious places of worship, so that people of all religions in the country can participate in prayers for Khaleda Zia’s recovery.
