BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that while his mother has a desire to return home during her critical illness, the decision is not entirely under his control. He made the comments in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Saturday (November 29).
Highlighting Khaleda Zia’s physical condition, Tarique Rahman said that the former prime minister is currently in intensive care in the hospital. People from different walks of life, regardless of party affiliation, are praying for her recovery. He said that the chief advisor has also assured maximum assistance in her treatment.
Tarek said, “At this moment of crisis, I also have a strong desire to receive my mother’s affection. However, returning home is not just a personal decision. The issue is politically extremely sensitive.”
He further said that foreign experts and local doctors are providing sincere treatment and assurances of cooperation have been received from several countries.
Finally, he urged people to continue praying for Khaleda Zia’s recovery and said, “Our family is hopeful that the long wait will end when the political situation improves.
