The government has appointed Professor Ali Riaz, Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, as the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser.
On Thursday (13 November), the Cabinet Division issued a notification regarding the appointment.
The notification stated that Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, has appointed Ali Riaz as his Special Assistant. While holding this position, he will receive the rank, salary, allowances, and other benefits of an Adviser.
Notably, Professor Ali Riaz had previously served as the head of the Constitutional Reform Commission of the Interim Government formed after the July uprising. In February, he was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission.
