On Wednesday night around 9:45 PM, a fire broke out in an old train coach at Tejgaon Railway Station in Dhaka. No casualties were reported. Railway security personnel arrested two individuals in connection with the incident.
The matter was confirmed by Akkas Ali, Assistant Commissioner of Tejgaon police, and Md. Zainal, Officer-in-Charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station.
Earlier, at around 6:30 PM, a passenger bus was set on fire at Dholai Para Mor in Dhaka. Two fire service units quickly arrived at the scene and controlled the fire. No casualties were reported.
On the same day, cocktail explosions occurred near Mirpur Model Police Station and in front of the Twin Tower area in Shantinagar. Police said a perpetrator threw a cocktail amidst a crowd near a police checkpoint and fled the scene.
Six petrol bombs were recovered in Rayer Bazar, and one person was arrested with four cocktails in Jigatala. Additionally, at around 9:15 PM, two cocktails exploded near the Metro Station under the TSC area of Dhaka University. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers threw the cocktails from Suhrawardy Udyan, causing two loud explosions.
In protest, students organized a demonstration around Dhaka University. Law enforcement authorities remain on high alert across the capital.
