BNP’s nominated candidate for Chattogram-8 (Chandgaon–Boalkhali) constituency and the city BNP convener Ershad Ullah has been airlifted to Dhaka for advanced medical treatment.
On Friday afternoon, he was taken to Square Hospital in Dhaka by helicopter. Prior to that, he had been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Chattogram since Wednesday.
Chattogram city BNP joint convener Shawkat Azam Khaja stated that doctors have confirmed Ershad Ullah is out of danger.
Last Wednesday afternoon, during an election campaign in Chandgaon’s Chalitattali Khandakarpara area, Ershad Ullah sustained gunshot injuries. Five others were also injured in the incident. A man named Sarwar Hossain alias Babla (43), who participated in the campaign, was killed in the shooting.
Meanwhile, RAB has arrested two suspects in connection with the incident. According to a briefing by RAB-7, the detainees are Helal Hossain alias Machh Helal and Alauddin, both of whom are named in the case’s first information report (FIR).
