Attorney General Mohammad Asaduzzaman announced on Wednesday (November 5) that he is resigning from his post to participate in the upcoming election.
In a press conference, he said, “I will vote. I will resign and contest the election.” He also stated that he has sought the nomination from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the Jhenaidah-1 constituency and is hopeful of receiving it.
It is worth noting that before becoming Attorney General, Asaduzzaman served as BNP’s Human Rights Secretary. He resigned from that position to take up the role of Attorney General. He has now announced his resignation to run in the elections while still holding the post.
