Although Cyclone Mocha has weakened into a low-pressure area, its effects continue to bring rain across the country, including the capital. In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 162 millimeters was recorded. Meteorologists have warned that by Saturday night, 10 districts may experience gusty winds or storms at 45–60 km/h.
Meteorologist Abul Kalam Malik stated that between 3 PM Saturday and 1 AM Sunday, areas including Jessore, Kushtia, Pabna, Faridpur, Madaripur, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Comilla, and Sylhet may experience showers or thunderstorms with gusty or stormy winds. River ports in these districts have been advised to hoist signal No. 1.
Meanwhile, heavy rain continues in the capital and other parts of the country, and this pattern may persist for the next five days. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department also predicts that a low-pressure system may form over the Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas within the next 48 hours.
In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded at 162 millimeters in Tetulia, Panchagarh, where the lowest temperature was 20.7°C.
