After a one-day suspension, metro rail services have fully resumed on the Uttara–Motijheel route in Dhaka. Full operations began at 11 a.m. on Monday, confirmed Rezour Rahman Akand, Additional Project Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
He said that following Sunday’s accident, train operations on the Agargaon–Shahbagh section had been suspended. A trial run was conducted in the morning, after which normal services resumed across the entire route at 11 a.m.
On Sunday afternoon, a bearing pad fell from a metro rail pillar in Dhaka’s Khamarbari area, killing a young man. Following the incident, metro rail operations were temporarily halted.
Later in the day, services partially resumed — first from Uttara to Agargaon in the afternoon and then from Shahbagh to Motijheel in the evening. Finally, on Monday morning, metro authorities restored full service along the entire route.
