After a one-and-a-half-month recess, the country’s highest court, the Supreme Court, will reopen tomorrow, Sunday. The court went on its annual vacation on September 5. During the recess, a few benches of the High Court Division and the Chamber Court of the Appellate Division conducted limited hearings on urgent matters.
As per tradition, a gathering of judges and lawyers will be held on Sunday morning in the Supreme Court’s inner garden to mark the reopening. The Chief Justice, judges of both the Appellate and High Court Divisions, the Attorney General, and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association will attend the event. A tea reception and courtesy meeting will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Regular judicial proceedings are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m., according to a Supreme Court press release.
