Bangladesh Bank has directed branches and sub-branches of banks involved in Hajj activities to remain open on Saturday, October 18.
In a notification issued today, the central bank stated that banks must continue accepting payments from depositors for Hajj registration as long as they are present. Banks have also been instructed to ensure adequate security arrangements at the relevant branches.
This directive has been issued under Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.
