Despite finishing wicketless in the final match against Afghanistan, Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman achieved a remarkable milestone in T20 cricket. In his four overs, he conceded 40 runs but bowled seven dot balls, which helped him set a new record—he is now the bowler with the most dot balls in T20 internationals.
Across 120 innings, Mustafiz has bowled 1,142 dot balls, accounting for 43.65 percent of his deliveries. With this, he has surpassed New Zealand pacer Tim Southee (1,138).
Shakib Al Hasan occupies the third spot with 1,078 dot balls, followed by England’s Adil Rashid (988) and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (984). Rashid Khan, however, boasts the lowest economy rate (6.12) among them and is also the leading wicket-taker with 179 scalps. Mustafiz has 152 wickets with an economy rate of 7.32.
Another Bangladesh pacer, Taskin Ahmed, is also close to the top bracket, having bowled 838 dot balls, which puts him in 11th place. His dot-ball percentage stands at an impressive 47.74, highlighting his effectiveness in the format.
Though Mustafiz may no longer produce the same consistent “cutter magic” as before, his new milestone proves once again that he remains one of the world’s finest in T20 cricket—the undisputed ‘Dot Ball King’.
